The atmosphere of your office from a company is different from your home, because in your house you can hear the nags of your spouse and cries of your children while in the office you can hear some gossips of your workmates and others. Sometimes it is difficult to work from home because there are some household chores that you need to accomplish and set aside your work. You really need to manage your time and effort just to finish your work and your household chores.
It’s really nice to have a good pair of headphones and music you love that helps to keep the external distractions out while giving you that nice atmosphere to keep you working. There must be a close door policy, in which your family will understands not to distract you if the door to your office is closed. If necessary, you still need to lock your door for the betterment of your work. Some distractions are not only in the family but also in your computer, like twitter it is one of the hug distractions, just like having a chat window open all day. Others have a problem with their new e-mail popping out to their window. If you want to get some serious work done, it is a good idea to turn off the Twitter of chat client, and close e-mail if you are required to read and reply each one as it come in.
